Dr. Robert Laurenzano, a native of Brooklyn, NY, established Advances in Dental Care in 2004 after more than thirty years of private practice and consulting activities. 

Dr. Laurenzano is a member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, the Southern Maryland Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and American Association of Dental Consultants. He was awarded fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1983 and became a Certified Dental Consultant in 2001. Dr. Laurenzano is the immediate Past-President of the American Association of Dental Consultants and was employed as Dental Director for Aetna and United Healthcare/Optum Specialty Benefits.

Dr. Laurenzano said, 'I love clinical practice. Helping people resolve their dental problems and overcoming fears of dentistry is very gratifying. I am pleased to have the opportunity to serve Gaithersburg – Rockville – Germantown – Potomac - North Potomac and surrounding communities with a professional staff of three doctors, each with many years of experience and advanced training. Our goal is to provide the appropriate medically necessary or elective treatment solution for each patient’s unique needs.' He is as comfortable working with young children and teens as he is with adults. In fact, Dr. Laurenzano completed a Mini-Residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Maryland in April 2008.

Dr. Laurenzano is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and completed a general practice residency at the Catholic Medical Center in NY. Dr. Laurenzano has also completed training in medical hypnosis.
